Bright Star Charitable Trust is a non-profit making organization whose sole intention to support the underprivileged Women, Children, Adult and Youth who need a care and support to lead a better life in society. Bright Start Charitable Trust was founded in the year of 2014 and work towards upliftment of Women, Children, Adult and Youth from socially and economically backward people from the society

For over 5 years as an organization our aim to ensure that everyone has an equal right for Survival, Protection, Development and Participation in such manner so they can maintain their dignity and live a good life in society.

What We Do?

Bright Star Charitable Trust closely work with the partner NGO’s and State government scheme and support the people who in need of support to develop them self as a socially responsible citizen in the society. Following are the major services provided by Bright Star Charitable Trust.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

Women empowerment and gender equality is one of the 17 sustainable development goals according to the United Nations Development Programme. The fact that gender equality is a sustainable goal in itself proves the dependence the overarching goal has on this one. Further, both research as well as experience suggest that it is only when women fully participate in the social, economic, political, and environmental spheres can the sustainable goals of development be achieved.

HEALTH CARE

BSCT’s healthcare interventions among the marginalized communities of Western Mumbai aim to create awareness about the various contagious diseases and the risk factors that make this population vulnerable to them. During our numerous interactions with the community, and most specifically with women, we learnt that the adults from these communities lose many productive days at work, and absenteeism among children at school was also high due to recurring health ailments.

ELDERLY CARE

BSCT has been working towards making a difference in the lives of underprivileged senior citizens in Mumbai city. Most of these elders we work with have beenabandoned by their familiesand lack financial independence to take care of their medical or other daily needs. BSCT makes a financial contribution towards the care and medical aid of such elderlycitizens. We look forward to provide mobile healthcare units and on-site medical aid for the senior citizens as many of them are not ambulatory.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Weaning off from a project when it became successful was one of the greatest challenges that we, faced in the initial days of our operation. The lack of sense of community amongst the beneficiaries was the greatest hurdle in handing over the project for continued operations. It was thus decided that community engagement programmes could provide a platform for the community members to come together and bond where they could handle events independently while raising resources for it.

SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN

At Brightstar Charitable Trust, we believe that each individual has a responsibility towards the environment and cleanliness of one’s surroundings. This thought has been an integral part of all our social initiatives and community engagement programmes. It received further encouragement when our Honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi called for a nation-wide effort to keep our surroundings clean through the Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan.
